Small Black Ceramic Pigs w Gold and Bronze Splotches are Handmade Pottery and Ready to Ship
23.00 - 44.00
Each of these little pigs is approx. 2 1/2" tall and are sold separately or save a few dollars when you buy the set. They are kiln fired to bisque and then cleaned and glazed and fired to almost 2000 degrees Fahrenheit in my kiln. The crystalline glaze is high gloss black punctuated with random splotches of golden bronze. I make the eyes from polymer clay. These are so cute for a bathroom, kitchen, kid's room or just on a bookcase in your office. Choose from "A" or "B" or choose the set: "Pink A and B Set".
Angela Michalski was born in Dallas and currently lives and works in Farmers Branch. In addition to creating her sculptural pottery she has been working as a typesetter and graphic designer since the 1980s and has extensive experience in market research graphics, logos, business cards and all sorts of visuals for companies and individuals. She especially enjoys altering photographs and images in Photoshop to better represent what the client would like to see in them.
She’s been working as a ceramist since 2002. Most of her pottery is hand-built in various clay bodies and firing techniques and accentuated with intricate glaze techniques. She often uses man-made or natural elements to finish her pieces. She’s always creating creatures whether they are hedgehogs, porcupines or a variety of pinch pot monsters. A new line of business card holders are available in the HedgehogLounge Etsy shop.
Until recently Angela has been creating in clay to nurture her soul but is now ready to share her work with a larger audience.
GALLERY ONE - FOR FUN Hedgehogs, Various Animals and Polymer Clay
My style is decidedly quirky. I generally work in series with recurrent themes: faces, skulls, nature’s forms and animals. When I work with clay I am reminded that with a little inspiration something can be created from essentially nothing.
Once I put my hands in the clay I usually have a pretty good idea of where I’m headed. Even in the earliest stages I usually find myself considering how a piece will be glazed, fired and amended.

When my work is going well, I am filled with a sense of elation and validation. I know a piece is done when I can manage to quit touching it and the sense of urgency to work with it dissipates. ~Angela

Angela agreed to create a custom figurine for me as a special gift, and it turned out beautifully! Her vision of what I was looking for and her ability to create it exceeded all expectations. And she was so pleasant to work with at every step of the process. I couldn't be more pleased with the product nor the service. A top-notch experience!
So cute! I purchased several items from Angela and they are all still with me as I don't want to give them away. Such cute little faces and each one is indeed unique.
Angela's tube guy series is so much fun, long on imagination and high in craftmanship. My favorite is the tribute to canine companions who have gone to heaven (they have halos!).
These chickens are THE BEST. They will make you laugh out loud just looking at their expressions! Can't say enough about them and this shop. These chickens were ordered during an unusual ice storm in Texas and the owner wrapped them up, and braved the elements(!) to get them in the mail to me! Highly recommend the creator and seller, Angela. I will be ordering more chickens for me and my friends!
